I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (psychotherapist) and owner of Elation Wellness, a private practice opened in 2016. I've worked in hospitals, community clinics, residential facilities, with all ages from young children to elderly. I utilize humor, compassion, while providing evidenced based treatment. I aim to be down-to-Earth and realistic in my approach. I am myself in and out of the therapy office!

There is no “one size” fits all when it comes to wellness. This is why I specialize in a number of different holistic treatments in addition to psychotherapy. Our body communicates through feelings and sensations. I am here to help you find your inner voice, listen to your body, and break free from dysfunctional family patterns, codependency, addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression. There may be an option for Out-Of-Network Coverage (OON). Some health plans may allow OON coverage, however, this varies and is not guarenteed.

You can verify your coverage by calling the number on the back of your card and asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?

  • Do I have Out-Of-Network benefits?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met? Do I have a copay?

Q&A

What is therapy?

Therapy is a safe place to share, challenge, and learn. It is a space where all of you is welcomed without judgment. Together, you and your therapist, can process painful experiences and learn new ways of coping with past and future worries. You can also address unhelpful habits and work towards a healthier you. Therapy is raw and complicated; you will laugh and cry, you might even get upset. But it is fun, life changing, and meaningful.  When you are ready, you will be guided to face your fears, worries, and pain. You can experience change and transformation. You can heal and begin to love every part of yourself.

How do I know if I am ready?

Chances are that if you are reading this it is because there is a part of you that is speaking up and wanting attention. Deciding to start therapy is similar to other difficult life decisions, in which, there may not a definitive feeling of readiness and it requires taking a chance. There is likely hesitation, a sense of fear, doubt, but don’t let this stop you! Embrace that voice within you that is yearning for change and to be heard.

What if I feel nervous or don’t want to talk about some things?

The goal of therapy is to create a safe place to share thoughts, feelings, fears, etc. But this requires time. How often do you meet a stranger and feel comfortable enough to tell them your deepest and darkest secrets? Probably never. So you are not expected to lay on a couch and divulge everything at once, unless you want to! If you are able to form a meaningful and trusting relationship, the time will come when you feel safe and ready to share.
